We’re seeking a Magento Architect / E-commerce Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of large-scale e-commerce platforms. You will architect scalable, high-performance solutions, managing 30-40 web stores from a single Adobe Commerce/Magento instance, with a strong focus on B2B e-commerce and seamless integrations with various ERP systems and third-party platforms. Ideal candidate will handle Wagento’s largest clients, guide them on technical issues, leverage AI-driven development, mentor new developers, contribute to the Magento ecosystem, and proactively drive technical innovation across Wagento’s partner platforms. Job Description
- Architecture Design: Proactively design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance e-commerce solutions on Adobe Commerce/Magento, supporting 30-40 web stores from a single instance with advanced B2B functionality, leveraging Wagento’s expertise as an Adobe Commerce partner.
- B2B Expertise: Architect and deliver robust B2B e-commerce features, including account management, tiered pricing, custom catalogs, quote management, and complex order workflows, anticipating business needs and challenges.
- Multi-Store Management: Manage multi-store Magento environments, ensuring efficient configuration, performance, and scalability across diverse B2B and B2C web stores.
- ERP & System Integration: Lead proactive integrations with various ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor) and third-party platforms (e.g., CRM, payment gateways like Stripe and PayPal, shipping APIs) to create seamless, headless workflows for multi-store environments.
- Client Management: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Wagento’s largest clients, providing expert guidance on technical issues, recommending solutions, and ensuring client satisfaction through proactive communication and problem resolution.
- Hands-On Development: Actively contribute to coding, customization, and integration of Magento-based platforms, delivering high-quality, maintainable code with a proactive approach to problem-solving, utilizing AWS infrastructure as part of our AWS partnership.
- AI Integration: Utilize AI-driven tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-based code optimizers) to enhance development efficiency, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize code and processes.
- Technical Leadership: Lead development teams with a forward-thinking mindset, providing technical direction and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration across Wagento’s partner platforms (Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, Shopify Plus, Scayle).
- Training & Mentorship: Proactively train and mentor new developers, sharing expertise in Adobe Commerce, headless commerce, B2B functionality, and multi-store management to build a skilled, high-performing team.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize platform performance, including API response times, database queries, and front-end delivery, to support high-traffic, multi-store setups, proactively addressing bottlenecks and leveraging AWS cloud solutions.
- E-commerce Strategy: Collaborate with global stakeholders and clients to define forward-looking e-commerce strategies, focusing on headless commerce, omnichannel integration, and customer journey optimization across B2B and B2C web stores, communicating ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure platforms adhere to security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS) and proactively implement robust data protection measures for large-scale deployments.
- Innovation & Trends: Stay ahead of e-commerce trends, Adobe Commerce updates, and advancements in BigCommerce, Shopify Plus, and Scayle platforms, proactively recommending cutting-edge solutions to enhance multi-store ecosystems.
- Magento Ecosystem Contributions: Actively contribute to the Magento ecosystem through code commits, bug fixes, extensions, documentation, or participation in community events like Meet Magento, Magento Live, or the Magento Association, aligning with Wagento’s leadership in the Adobe Commerce community.
- Communication & Presentation: Deliver clear, compelling presentations and documentation in excellent written and spoken English to articulate technical strategies, project updates, and solutions to stakeholders and clients.
- Travel Readiness: Be prepared for occasional international travel, particularly to the USA, to collaborate with global teams or clients, ensuring a valid passport is maintained.
Requirement
- 10+ years in e-commerce development, with at least 4 years focused on Adobe Commerce/Magento (Magento 2 required), including managing large-scale platforms with 30-40 web stores from a single instance.
- Expertise in Magento architecture, including multi-store configuration, module development, theming, customization, and B2B-specific features.
- Hands-on proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar for headless front-ends), HTML, CSS, and GraphQL/REST APIs.
- Proven experience with Magento Cloud, PWA Studio, and headless frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Gatsby) for multi-store, B2B environments.
- Strong experience integrating with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor) and third-party platforms (e.g., CRM, payment gateways, shipping APIs).
- Proficiency in using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-based code optimizers) to streamline development processes.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms, with experience in AWS as part of our AWS partnership.
- Demonstrated contributions to the Magento ecosystem, such as code commits to the Magento 2 repository, bug fixes, extension development, documentation, or active participation in community events like Meet Magento or Magento Association initiatives. Must possess Adobe Commerce certifications, such as Adobe Commerce Developer Expert or Adobe Commerce Architect.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and proactively train new developers on Adobe Commerce, headless commerce, B2B functionality, and multi-store management.
- Experience working directly with large clients, providing technical guidance, resolving complex issues, and building strong client relationships through effective communication.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to addressing complex technical challenges in large-scale, multi-store, B2B, and headless e-commerce setups.
- Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to create clear technical documentation and deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences, including high-profile clients.
- Must possess a valid passport for occasional international travel, with a valid B1/B2 visa for the USA considered a significant advantage.
- Strongly preferring a valid B1/B2 visa.
